DR. PATRICK KO

The Sophie Davis School of Bio Medical Education

Dr. Patrick Ko graduated from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and continued on to attend medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, now known as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He finished his internal medicine internship at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, and went on to complete his residency in emergency medicine at the Jacobi/Montefiore Medical Center located in the Bronx.

Following his residency, Dr. Ko became a full time Emergency Medicine Physician as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. During this time, Dr. Ko was twice awarded the Best Teaching Doctor of the Year Award by the emergency medicine residents at Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Ko eventually moved on to the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset to finish a fellowship in emergency ultrasound. Following his training, he served as an Assistant Residency Director for many years in the emergency department, where he was responsible for recruiting and educating future emergency room doctors. Dr. Ko also worked part-time at the North Shore Forest Hills Hospital, where he had the highest patient satisfaction scores for two years in a row at the North Shore Hospital System's emergency department. His accomplished service has lead him to earn a nomination for North Shore Hospital's "Doctor of the Year" award.

Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Ko has published several articles in medical journals and has presented research in National Emergency Conferences. His interests include emergency ultrasound and specialized emergency room treatments. Dr. Ko also operates as the team physician to NY Fury, a professional women's soccer team based in Long Island.

Dr. Ko is fluent in both English and Korean, and is conversational in Spanish as well.

DR. SHAUN COLE

Dr. Shaun Cole grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee and completed his medical studies at the SUNY Upstate Medical University, and MPH degree at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Dr. Cole trained in emergency medicine and internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic and Yale University School of Medicine. He has special interest in international medicine, bedside procedures, and emergency ultrasound, and is a registered sonographer through the ARDMS. His research interests included pediatric HIV epidemiology, and disparities in food access between socioeconomic backgrounds in NYC.

DR. JAY FELDMAN

Dr. Feldman is currently a physician in the department of emergency medicine at St. John's Riverside Hospital.

He is the founder of Operations Elective and an instructor for JTM Tactical Medicine Training Group.

DR. Alexander Ostrovsky

Dr. Alexander Ostrovsky graduated from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He went on to complete his residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, now known as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and became a board certified emergency medicine physician. There, Dr. Ostrovsky became an associate director of the Level 1 Trauma Center, and has garnered over a decade of experience working as an emergency medicine physician.

Dr. Ostrovsky is well known by UMD Urgent Care’s patients and staff for his engaging demeanor, as well as his dedication to providing great health care.

DR. JIN ZHANG

Dr. Jin Zhang was born and raised in Beijing, China, and graduated from Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing. She trained as a pediatric ENT at Beijing Children’s Hospital, where she had extensive experience caring for children.

After relocating to NYC from Beijing, Dr. Zhang received her MPH degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and earned another medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Zhang went on to complete her residency in family medicine at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, and became a board certified family medicine physician.

Dr. Zhang is an experienced family medicine physician with a special interest in pediatrics. She has dedicated herself to caring for both children and adults, and hopes to bring quality healthcare to the communities that she serves.

DR. LEI CHEN

Dr. Lei Chen obtained his first medical degree from the Southern Medical University located in Guangzhou, China. He continued his education in NYC, where he graduated from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health with his MPH. He completed his residency at the Cox Family Medicine Residency where he received specialized training in internal medicine, emergency medicine, urgent care, pediatrics, surgery and OB/GYN. Dr. Lei Chen earned the Outstanding Achievement Award for outstanding performance in theoretical and practical studies while studying Diagnostic Medical Sonography Training at the Institute of Allied Medical Professions.

As a previous physician of Dong Fang Hospital in Fuzhou, China, Dr. Chen practiced both Western medicine and traditional Chinese acupuncture. During his tenure at Dong Fang Hospital, his impressive performance was recognized as Dr. Chen became the recipient of the Outstanding Young Physician Award. Later in his career, Dr. Chen worked as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he performed rest and stress echocardiograms and formulated preliminary echo reports. Dr. Chen was also able to further demonstrate his expertise in ultrasound/echocardiogram when he became a specialized instructor of adult echocardiography at the Healthcare Training Institute.

Dr. Chen is currently a physician of UMD Urgent Care where he assists the community’s patients with their medical needs. Dr. Chen is a board certified physician of the American Board of Family Medicine, as well as a New York State Certified Physician Acupuncturist.

Dr. Chen is a fluent speaker of Chinese.

DR. SAMUEL BRIDE

Dr. Samuel Bride attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia where he was an English major as well as a Division I tennis player.

He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where he was also the recipient of the prestigious Gold Humanism Award. He is a trained general and vascular surgeon with recent experience in urgent care and emergency medicine.

Dr. Bride has spent extensive time in Europe and most recently, West Africa, partaking in medical missions. He enjoys music, movies and Montana.

DR. JORDAN JEONG

Dr. Jordan Jeong was born and raised in Syracuse, NY before making his way down towards New York City almost 10 years ago.

Dr. Jeong is an emergency medicine trained physician who completed his medical education at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ before returning to NYC to practice both urgent care and emergency medicine.

Dr. Jeong has a passion for evidence based medicine and bringing patients the most up to date and compassionate care possible.

DR. APRIL CASTILLO

Dr. April Castillo grew up in Bay Shore NY. She studied anthropology at Princeton University and studied medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She did her residency training at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston New Jersey, where she trained in anesthesiology after completing an intern year in medicine and surgery.

Dr Castillo is especially interested in preventative and functional medicine, and enjoys treating children. She is proficient in Spanish and speaks some conversational French. Outside of medicine she enjoys reading, football, crafts, and the beach.
